While blog-browsing this morning, I came across a post about this site. Sketchy Santas. After our encounter with Santa this year, it made me snicker a bit. Konner was NOT sitting on Santas lap. He muh preferred the front seat of the sleigh. But I must say that the Santa at Pippin McGee has nothing on these guys. Can you blame these kids for being terrifed??? :)

Ahhhh!

Can the chaos ever end?!?!?! I'm so extremely exhausted. More mental than physical. It seems like I can't catch up.

As most of you know, Mrs. Sharon (Konner's sitter) lost her daughter Mal in a terrible motorcycle accident a little over a week ago. It was a horrific incident and I can't imagine going through that.

With that being said, I've had to find a sitter for Konner. God Bless Nanny for helping us out with this situation. We couldn't have done it without you. Thanks!!! But after talking with Mrs. Sharon, she decided to close another week.

Today was Konner's first day with a stranger. Well, a stranger to him. I dropped him off this morning at Jessica's (daughter in law of a family friend) and Ive been coo-coo ever since. I just HATE leaving him with someone he doesn't know. And it breaks my heart to leave him while he is crying so hard.

I'm trying to put my big girl panties on so I can make it through the day. :D

Oh how I want to win that $70 million Powerball and be a stay at home Mom!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is a gorgeous day! Perfect Thanksgiving weather. The sky is blue, the wind is cool. Just beautiful!

In spirit of this Thanksgiving season, I will skip "I Want" Wednesday. Instead, I will give you my list of things I am thankful for:

My handsome, happy, (not so) healthy, smart, loving little boy.

And I do have to mention that I am extremely thankful (especially today) for D-Hist.

Yes, D-Hist. Without this miracle anti-histamine, I think my head would explode. It leaves me with a dry, burning nose and an extreme case of cotton mouth, but it's SO worth it! Every last burning , dry sensation is worth the relief it gives.

I'm (slowly) making Konner's Christmas wish list at Toys R Us and Target. I say slowly because it's proven to be a lot more difficult than last year. Apparently there aren't many options for his age group. I use the word options very reluctantly. There are actually plenty of options, just not much in the form of educational and worthwhile. Just your typical everyday "junky" toys.

While browsing online at Target.com, I came across a few unique, educational and functional toys. My favorites are made by Melissa & Doug . They have the neatest, most creative toys from learning blocks, to sushi sets to realistic kitchens. I mean, what kid doesn't want a sushi set? :) They even have the most adorable puppet theaters.

So props to Melissa & Doug (whoever you are) for having awesome products and props to Target for carrying so many of these awesome products.

"Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color?"

I absolutely, positively ♥ Christmas time. Everything about it! Decorating the tree, looking at Christmas lights, Wrapping presents, Egg Nog, Christmas Music, and ...

"Elf!" My absolute favorite Christmas movie!!! I look forward to the annual non stop "Elf" marathons on TV. It never gets old.

I find myself quoting the movie on a daily basis.

"Buddy the Elf. What's you favorite color?"

Ahhh!!! I just can't get enough!

And if non stop marathons on TV aren't enough, Movies in the Parc is showing "Elf" on November 28. Woo Hoo! We will be there for sure!

"I Want" Wednesday

So I decided to start something new. I've seen blog writers embrace the topic of "Not Me Monday", and I decided to change it up a bit with a topic of my own. So every (hopefully) Wednesday I will write my "I Want" list. A list of materialistic, emotional, or just every day things. Some lists may sound bratty. Some may sound reasonable. Say may be fulfilled. Some may not. Either way, it's MY "I Want" list.

If there's a bug, he's got it

Konner that is. If there's a bug going around, he's guaranteed to catch it. And I don't mean bees, flies, love bugs, etc. I mean colds, flu, 'ickyness'. Whatever you want to call it. And this week is no different.

After a pointless visit with his pediatricians office, we finally made it in to see Dr. Kate. (The most amazing doctor I have ever had to deal with) She is very thorough with Konner and understands his history. I love her!

Anyway, she informed me that Konner has the start of a viral infection. Along with this, he has four teeth coming out, tonsillitis and ulcers on the back of his tongue. He lost about 2 pounds recently and pretty much refuses to eat. She said that these ulcers are very painful and it's no surprise that he isn't eating. After a few tips and a new medication, she sent us on our way. But I have to say that she sent us on our way with great confidence. She made it a point to have me call if ANYTHING goes wrong. After our last ER visit, it is great to know this.

Did I mention that I absolutely ♥ Dr. Brent and Dr. Kate?

Are you a citizen?

While browsing Facebook today, I came across an interesting link. Apparently being a US Citizen no longer means that you were actually born in the US. Now, I know you can "earn" your green card. Which techincally qualifies you as being a citizen. But buying your citizenship? That's insane!

It's true! If you have a million dollars (and hopefully other qualifications) you can buy your way into the US. It's explained clear as day here , on the USCIS website.

Call me racist, call me mean, call me whatever you want, but I think this is rediculous. I know America is a great place to live, but let that be our right. Let us enjoy OUR country. The country that we were BORN in.

Weekend Update

We had a fantastic, fun-filled weekend. Lunch at Chick fil-a on Saturday. Followed by the Pumpkin Patch and UL Homecoming. Sunday was Bark in the Park at Girard Park. Great fun and plenty of pictures...

Hello World!

I am back! (Until I dissappear again) And might I add...FREEZING! This cold weather sucks! My toesies can't seem to defrost.

Only in Louisiana will it be 40 degrees in the morning, 70 during the day, and back up to 80 later in the week. And we wonder why we're always sick.

I seem to have a large lack in creativity lately (at least when it comes to my blog.) So, I will leave it at this...

I'm back. I hope to update more often. When my creative juices start flowing, I'll come up with humurous posts on the subject of mullets and such. :)

My Life...

...is very hectic right now. Sorry for the lack of posts. I will reappear when I rejuvenate. :)

Oh Hollywood...

I listen to KiddKraddick in the morning. Every morning! And today's show was great. So good that I felt the need to listen live online and blog about it.

First, a sad note...Ed McMahon passed away this morning. After a great career and a not so great end resulting in bankruptcy, he is now away from the Hollywood drama.

And on the subject of Hollywood drama... Chris Brown went to trial yesterday. And is a free man today. Yes, he beat the crap out of Rihanna and walked right out of the court room. After listening to the show this morning, I am learning that this is actually a normal sentencing for domestic violence cases. To make matters even more ridiculous, the judge ordered him to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, and she argued it. Rihanna and her lawyers said it was too harsh. Are you kidding me? He beat the crap out of her, in public, and she still wants to see him. When will people learn?

It was also mentioned that Jon and Kate will get a divorce. Which just breaks my heart. I absolutely love them and I think they were sucked in the horrible celebrity life. I wish them luck and hope that they will get some kind of privacy while sorting through their problems. Leave them alone Hollywood!

OK...and the highlight of the show this morning was Kelly and J-Si's Perez Hilton song. They wrote a hilarious song about Perez to the beat of Boom Boom Pow after it was reported that Will-I-Am beat him up. I personally can't stand Perez. I think he is a low life, dead beat wanna be celebrity that has made himself "famous" by humiliating stars. So "Ha Ha!" on you Perez!

Sugar Sugar, Oh...Honey Honey

First, thanks to everyone who attended Konner's party Sunday. We had a good time and got lots of great gifts. Thanks to all!

As you all know, Konner wasn't a big fan of his cake. No biggie, right?

Please Pray

I've just learned that a good friend from high school has faced one of life's greatest tragedies. Losing a precious child. Lori (Binnings) and Travis McGrew welcomed sweet Madeline into the world on Wednesday, June 3. Only to lose her shortly after. I'm learning that Madeline had Trisomy 18 which is a life threatening condition. You can read more about that here.

We all know that God has a reason for everything He does, and I know He has a need for Madeline in heaven. I can only hope and pray that Lori, Travis and other family members can stay strong throughout this gut wrenching time.

And I know for certain that sweet Madeline is a beautiful angel wearing wings and a halo watching over her Mom and Dad.

Weekend Update

Another fun and busy weekend has come and gone. And I've got pictures galore. So this will be an image filled update.


Let's start with Friday... Mitchell's friend Michael got married at White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge. Now, if you would have asked me about this wedding Friday morning, I probably didn't sound very thrilled. One reason being that I'm not very fond of this guy and the way he treats his fiance (now wife) and two being that I had to leave work early to head to Baton Rouge.


If you ask me now, I'd say that I;m glad I didn't miss it. This was by far the most entertaining wedding I have ever been to. But not necessarily in a good way. Now don't get me wrong, the wedding was gorgeous, the reception was fun and the food was delicious. But the groom was the absolute most intoxicated groom I have ever seen. He was so drunk that they (the groom and his new wife) "snuck out" of the reception. Not for the typical reason, but because he just couldn't go anymore. And I'd bet my life savings that she had a prefect night planned that was ruined.

But anyway, here are a few pictures:

Now that was an interesting wedding.

After a night of bar hopping in downtown Baton Rouge, we finally made it home around 2:00 am. Waaaaay past my bedtime. But it was well worth it. I had a blast.

A few restful hours later, we wake up, eat lunch and go pick up Konner from Nana's. And off we go on our weekend errand run. We return home around 5:30 and Konner is done. We put him down for a nap and he slept for a while. A while consisting of 14 hours. Yes, he slept until 7:30 Sunday morning. We attempted to wake him up for dinner Saturday night and this is all we got...

Butt in the air, fingers in the mouth, there's no waking this boy.

Sunday was another busy one. But the fun kinda busy. We headed to Dwyer's with Dad, Kathy and the Boudreaux gang. YUMMY!

We then headed to the State Fair. (Yes, we fought the heat for the expensive rides, white trash, sewer smelling streets of the fair) And we had a bit of fun. I took Konner on the carousel. (The fastest carousel I have ever been on) and Mitchell took him on the bumble bee ride. He wasn't too sure about either. But I think he had fun. Of course we had to visit the petting zoo. Konner absolutely loved it. (Me and Mitchell wanted to free all of the animals) He laughed and talked to the animals. His favorite were the goats. I guess because they were on his level.

After we watched the inhumane pig races, we headed to the store. (Anything to get out of the heat) And of course Konner was pooped!

Get ready for next weekend's update. It's gonna be a big ONE! Get it?!? lol Big ONE!!! (OK...I'm a dork)
