Ahhhh!
As most of you know, Mrs. Sharon (Konner's sitter) lost her daughter Mal in a terrible motorcycle accident a little over a week ago. It was a horrific incident and I can't imagine going through that.
With that being said, I've had to find a sitter for Konner. God Bless Nanny for helping us out with this situation. We couldn't have done it without you. Thanks!!! But after talking with Mrs. Sharon, she decided to close another week.
Today was Konner's first day with a stranger. Well, a stranger to him. I dropped him off this morning at Jessica's (daughter in law of a family friend) and Ive been coo-coo ever since. I just HATE leaving him with someone he doesn't know. And it breaks my heart to leave him while he is crying so hard.
I'm trying to put my big girl panties on so I can make it through the day. :D
Oh how I want to win that $70 million Powerball and be a stay at home Mom!

If there's a bug, he's got it
After a pointless visit with his pediatricians office, we finally made it in to see Dr. Kate. (The most amazing doctor I have ever had to deal with) She is very thorough with Konner and understands his history. I love her!
Anyway, she informed me that Konner has the start of a viral infection. Along with this, he has four teeth coming out, tonsillitis and ulcers on the back of his tongue. He lost about 2 pounds recently and pretty much refuses to eat. She said that these ulcers are very painful and it's no surprise that he isn't eating. After a few tips and a new medication, she sent us on our way. But I have to say that she sent us on our way with great confidence. She made it a point to have me call if ANYTHING goes wrong. After our last ER visit, it is great to know this.
Did I mention that I absolutely ♥ Dr. Brent and Dr. Kate?
Wish us luck in this recovery! :D

Steroids
Konner is on steroids, again. Blah! This time it's a dissolvable tablet once a day for seven days. Dr. Butaud wants to try that on top of the antibiotics that he will be on for three weeks. Yes, three weeks. Twice a day for 21 days. That's what the bottle says. Now granted, I want him to get better. But I'm not in the least bit thrilled about "drugging" my child for three weeks. And I'm also not thrilled about the fact that we have to use saline spray and suction his nose 10-15 times a day. Do you know how miserable that must be for him? Can you imagine how raw his nose will be?
Our visit was quick and to the point yesterday. I think the majority of that has to do with the fact that doctors refuse to communicate with each other. Dr. Butaud has no idea about Konner's crazy journey. He had no clue that he was hospitalized once, more less 3 times. He had no clue that he has constant bouts of bronchitis and other breathing problems. He didn't even know that he has a nebulizer.
Now I'm not putting any of the blame on Doc. After all, he is my favorite. :) I'm just tired of starting over. I'm tired of trial and error every time we see a new doctor. Damn it...I'm tired of going to the doctor.
It's extremely heart breaking when you walk into a doctors office and your innocent child's face goes from one extreme to the other. He knows. He knows that the man or woman in the white coat is going to poke and prod him. He knows that he will get a long stick down his throat. He knows that they will look into his aching ear. It's sad. Really sad to see that look on your child's face when there's nothing you can do to help them understand.
I'm tired of it. I'm ready for my little boy to be happy. To feel healthy. To be able to be himself.

Here we go...again!
"I love my crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful life."
Yep...that sums it up alright. And today was another one of those crazy days.
This is what we woke up to...

You guessed it! He's sick again. But this time it's serious. (Not that any of the other times weren't)
After a visit with Dr. Papp we have this...
-A severe ear infection. Severe meaning that it is corroding his ear drum. Ring a bell? It's my childhood all over again.
-Two eye infections. (Yes, again)
-And wheezing.
I know, I know. It sounds like every other time. But this time we are finally getting somewhere. Dr. Papp recommended that Konner sees and ENT. Finally! Maybe this will answer our questions. So...Dr. Butaud, HERE WE COME!
But that wasn't the final answer. No...they had to poke and stick and...Ugh! My poor child.
According to Dr. Papp, the only medication that will relive Konner of this congestion and fluid build up is an antibiotic shot. He received one this morning and has to go back tomorrow and Friday for two more. They also took an insanely large amount (I though he was going to pass put on the table) of blood to test for Immune Deficiency Disorder. Finally. This was mentioned before, but never done.
Oh, and for those of you wondering...we received his allergy results. The only thing that came back was milk. Which we already knew about. It was more of a confirmation I guess. It's only a slight allergy. On a scale of 0-6, it's a 1. So...nothing to freak out about, but enough to be cautious. My only concern with this being the only thing he's allergic to???? WHY IS HE ALWAYS SICK? I really thought the allergy test would give us answers. But nope. It's back to square one.
So here we go. Another journey into the mysterious immune system of Konner. :)

Bubbie's sick...again!
