Weekend Update

Another fun and busy weekend has come and gone. And I've got pictures galore. So this will be an image filled update.

Let's start with Friday... Mitchell's friend Michael got married at White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge. Now, if you would have asked me about this wedding Friday morning, I probably didn't sound very thrilled. One reason being that I'm not very fond of this guy and the way he treats his fiance (now wife) and two being that I had to leave work early to head to Baton Rouge.

If you ask me now, I'd say that I;m glad I didn't miss it. This was by far the most entertaining wedding I have ever been to. But not necessarily in a good way. Now don't get me wrong, the wedding was gorgeous, the reception was fun and the food was delicious. But the groom was the absolute most intoxicated groom I have ever seen. He was so drunk that they (the groom and his new wife) "snuck out" of the reception. Not for the typical reason, but because he just couldn't go anymore. And I'd bet my life savings that she had a prefect night planned that was ruined.

But anyway, here are a few pictures:

Now that was an interesting wedding.

After a night of bar hopping in downtown Baton Rouge, we finally made it home around 2:00 am. Waaaaay past my bedtime. But it was well worth it. I had a blast.

A few restful hours later, we wake up, eat lunch and go pick up Konner from Nana's. And off we go on our weekend errand run. We return home around 5:30 and Konner is done. We put him down for a nap and he slept for a while. A while consisting of 14 hours. Yes, he slept until 7:30 Sunday morning. We attempted to wake him up for dinner Saturday night and this is all we got...

Butt in the air, fingers in the mouth, there's no waking this boy.

Sunday was another busy one. But the fun kinda busy. We headed to Dwyer's with Dad, Kathy and the Boudreaux gang. YUMMY!

We then headed to the State Fair. (Yes, we fought the heat for the expensive rides, white trash, sewer smelling streets of the fair) And we had a bit of fun. I took Konner on the carousel. (The fastest carousel I have ever been on) and Mitchell took him on the bumble bee ride. He wasn't too sure about either. But I think he had fun. Of course we had to visit the petting zoo. Konner absolutely loved it. (Me and Mitchell wanted to free all of the animals) He laughed and talked to the animals. His favorite were the goats. I guess because they were on his level.

After we watched the inhumane pig races, we headed to the store. (Anything to get out of the heat) And of course Konner was pooped!

Get ready for next weekend's update. It's gonna be a big ONE! Get it?!? lol Big ONE!!! (OK...I'm a dork)

Weekend Update

Who would have thought? That after our crazy weather this weekend...today would be so beautiful! That's Louisiana weather!!!

Our weekend was once again, quite eventful. We dodged sun, we dodged rain, we dodged cold. Crazy!

I wasn't very satisfied with the original pictures that I took for Konner's birthday, so we attempted a re shoot at Sugar Mill Pond. (Take that River Ranch!) They came out a little better, but not great. It was almost 90 degrees outside and Konner wasn't having it. After he decided to nose dive off of a step, we knew it was time to go.

Saturday night was pretty interesting. After a few nights of Konner fighting his sleep and waking up a lot, I decided to try teething tablets again. (I'm not a big fan of giving him Motrin a lot) On the bottle, it clearly states that the tablets will relieve pain caused by teething and your baby will more than likely sleep for a longer period of time. This is due to the fact that they are comfortable. Well, apparently Konner is that 1% that has the opposite effect. It was very obvious that he was free of pain. His eyes were very heavy and he had a constant smile on his face. (You know...the look of a drunk man eyeing that hot girl) 8:00 pm is his usual bedtime. Still awake. 9:00 pm...still awake. Around 9:30 I noticed he was in "la la land" and just taring at the TV. So I rocked him a bit and put him to bed. Yeah right! He was not ready. He cried and screamed. So I stopped playing Farm Town went get him and rocked him again. Still not sleepy. So Konner and I played farm town until 11:00pm. Yes...my baby went to sleep at 11:00 pm! Needless to say, he slept all night. (Thank God!)

Now...to find something that he will eat besides Macaroni and Yogurt.

Our My plans for Sunday were to sleep as late as possible Konner would allow and head back to Sugar Mill Pond for one last attempt. And Yay!...it worked. Konner was in the best mood and we took awesome pictures. (Despite the cold and misty weather)

After pictures, we headed to Kristin's (Ben's girlfriend) graduation party. After seven years of college she is now a graduate. Congrats!

Did I mention that it was 55 degrees this morning? Louisiana...May...55 degrees...doesn't make sense!

Weekend Update

Update: I am finally able to upload pictures. Not sure what the issue was, but here ya go...

Apparently you will hear all about my weekend madness on Tuesdays. I just can't seem to find the time to post anything on Mondays. Today is a little less stressful but still busy so I will make this short and quick.

My weekend was very eventful. (Which should be no surprise) It was Mother's day of course. But it was also Eric and Allie's wedding. Their wedding took place at Sunny Meade in Scott. It was absolutely beautiful.

My first Mother's Day was wonderful! I couldn't ask for anything better. We spent the whole day by the pond and relaxed. What more could I ask for.

And on a more somber note...upon logging into Facebook this morning, I saw a post from a guy named Adam who also has a blog here on Blogger. His sweet little girl Kayleigh has been fighting for her life after being born premature and weighing just one pound. Her struggle has been tough and she unfortunately couldn't go anymore. She took her last breath shortly before 10 pm last night. Please keep her family in your prayers as they face this tough battle. You can read more of Kayleigh's story here.

Weekend Update

I know it's Tuesday, but it's never too late for a weekend update. Right?

I've come to the conclusion that I love summer...warm days, family time, days at the park...but it's exhausting. So much to do. We are 'booked' just about every weekend for the next couple of months. Whew! This weekend was no exception.

Friday night was a last minute trip to the bowling alley with Dwight and Sarah. Something we never do. (It was obvious by our scores)

We definitely needed that. It was so much fun!

Saturday was the March of Dimes walk. The weather was perfect and the walk was great. But one thing I realized is that I'm sooooo out of shape. (I was feeling the 3 miles Sunday) The Walk was a great success and it went to a great cause. Thanks again to everyone who helped with donations. It is much appreciated.

And Sunday...Wow! What a day. I had it all planned out to take these adorable pictures of Konner for his birthday invitations. Well, he had other plans. He just wasn't having it. I ordered him a birthday cake and everything. Let's just say that I won't be posting these pictures anytime soon because they need lots (and lots) of editing. Thanks God for Photoshop!
